Choice #1: Traditional Research Paper:
Write a 7-10 page research paper, following MLA Format, regarding some aspect of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and its adaptation into film, or another approved topic of your choice.  Choose a major theme, character, scene, or stylistic device.  It is important that your topic is narrow enough for you to delve deeply into various aspects of the fiction and the film(s).  Sources should include criticism of both the novel and the film(s), and must include both hard text and online sources.
In order to narrow down your topic as much as possible, please use the example of the Video page of this web presentation.  You may use the topics presented, or you may develop a similar topic of your own.  Either way, your Proposal should indicate your topic.  The paper will be assessed according to the English Department Writing Assessment Rubric (EDWAR).
