Advances in Operator Theory with Applications to Mathematical Physics
November 14-18 2022,
Chapman University, ORANGE, CA
The topic of the conference is the intersection between operator theory, mathematical analysis (in a wide sense), and applications to Physics.
All talks will be held in Beckman Hall 404 at Chapman University, see the campus map link below.
Train: Metrolink
The connections by train are complicated and they depend on the time of arrival, as trains are not so frequent. One must take a bus from LAX to Union Station and then the Metrolink or Amtrak train to Orange and arrange for the shutttle from the hotel or Uber to the hotel. The SuperShuttle is more convenient especially when purchasing a two way ticket from LAX.
Things to do in the region, apart from Mathematics: 1) Go to either Los Angeles or the beach
First one must take the train north or south from the university: Metrolink
Then one has the following options:
Orange - LA Union Station - Orange: visit historic DownTown, Central Market, Geffen Museum, Japanese-American and Chinese-American Museums.
Orange - San Juan Capistrano - Orange: visit the historical San Juan Capistrano Mission
Orange - San Clemente - Orange: a day at a typical Southern California beach
While in LA, metro lines are available to Santa Monica Beach (about 1:15 each way) or to Hollywood (about 45 minutes each way) 2) Other posibilities:
There are also organized trips by Anaheim Tour Company, leaving from Disneyland to several sightseeing adventures at: Anaheim Tour Company
Please note that Alo Hotel also offers some free transportation to other places besides Chapman University, as well a sightseeing advice, please inquire at the hotel.
For kids and a quintessential Southern California visit one can go to Disneyland or California Adventure Parks at Disneyland
