Mountain Flowers in Bulgaria

I took these pictures in three Bulgarian mountains in July 2004. Click on thumbnails for larger pictures, or click here to download an archive with full-size pictures.

A small countryside church near Pavelsko in the Rodopi mountains (I happen to have been born there).

A meadow near Pavelsko in the Rodopi mountains (my parents used to keep a beehive on the spot).

I took this and the next few pictures during a trip to Cherni Vrah (Black Summit) on Vitosha Mountain.

The Vitosha Mountain is looming over Sofia and is a popular day-trip destination.

A far away view to the Smradlivo (Stinky) Lake. The lake does not stink at all, but once did after an avalanche washed some fish out of the lake.
