After non-stop action for the past couple of days finals week is almost over for me. Saturday I worked on my final audio project from 7 PM – 1 AM (this is after already having logged three or four hours working on it), then Sunday I got to spend most of the day and the earliest parts of the morning crafting an essay about Jose Luis Borges and Victorian literature for my Latin America to Los Angeles class. Monday I had to find a very specific book on Buddhist meditation, read all of it (I actually only read about 2/3 or so), and write a paper about that book and two others I’d already read (which were about other crazy things) discussing their common themes, and take an audio final and also work on this Spanish presentation I was doing with another guy where I’m Picasso and he’s Dalí and we meet in Heaven. I was able to get up early this morning to finish the essay before I met the guy playing Dalí to practice the skit a few more times and put the finishing touches on the accompany power-point presentation. Then went to the Spanish final, preformed the puppy (someone actually brought a real live puppy as part of their presentation and pretended it was a baby or something. I don’t know, I can’t really understand Spanish), ran back to the room, dropped of my lap-top (which we’d used for the power-point), grabbed my sk8 board, dropped of the essay and made it to my cinematography final with just a little time to spare. Took the test, sk8ed home, collapsed on bed, read some comics. All I’ve really had to eat today has been cookies.
Anyway, just one more test tomorrow and I am home free, except I still have to figure out a bunch of stuff with my zombie movie before I fly home on Thursday, but I should have time to get that all done. Ha ha. I hope.

I’m not sure why exactly you come to this webpage, but I bet it’s for cool stuff. Fortunately, I’m in a rare position where I can actually give you what you’re looking for! You may have noticed the comment board thing to the right. Well it’s awesome! Go ahead and try it. Type something very cleaver and let everyone else read and respond to it. Trust me, it will be the most fun you’ve had in years.
Also! I’m not sure exactly why, but I put my two final audio projects online.
The first one is a commercial for gorilla defense squads, which I think I made up. Oh, and after the main part there's a long section of silence followed by the brief sounds of a hair dryer.
The second one is an except from The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells, which coicedentally I also read for my Latin America to L.A. class. Ha!
Fortunately, a lot of stuff gets blown up in both of them. Not real stuff, but it sounds like it! The H.G. Wells piece has well over 50 sound effects in it, and took me more or less a year to complete. Share + enjoy!

It’s finals week. Which means I will be doing everything I can to not do my end of the semester essays and projects. Like updating this web page! Hooray!
Hmm . . . Grant told me he updated his site last night and that it came out really bitter. Turns out he was right. Dang. Maybe I should write something depressing too. Nah, that’s too easy. Plus, I’m not in the mood. Instead, I think I’ll make a list of things that are awesome. The world needs more of those.
1. Grant just offered me some really dang good See’s chocolate, which I’m eating right now. And I haven’t even had breakfast yet!
2. About a week from today I asked Faye to take me to the comic book store, since I hadn’t been in months and guess what? Everything in the whole store was 40% off! Holy crap, it was awesome! I got 70 bucks worth of stuff for 40 bucks! And it was ok, since that’s like 40 bucks spent on comics in the last two and a half months, which is below average for me!
3. I’ve read a bunch of the comics I bought, but still have even more LEFT to read!
4. “All the vampires/walking through the valley/move west down/Ventura Boulevard.” Tom Petty is a very decent musician. I enjoy his music, and also the fact that he sings about vampires, and also the fact that we are listening to his Greates Hits as we speak!
5. Dang, this is good chocolate!
6. Naomi straightened my hair a few days ago, and it was pretty cool! Observe:
7. It’s back to normal now, but I like it this way, too!
8. Yesterday I wandered into a random shop in Old Towne with silly home and garden decorations that were priced way to expensively and not things I would buy anyway, but the two ladies there (I think the shop was also their house or something) were really nice and fun to talk to. There was a basket full of fake robin’s eggs for a quarter a piece, but they let me have one free, for good luck.
9.For Thanksgiving I went to stay with my aunt and uncle at a mineral spa/retired people’s RV park in the desert. I missed my house and my “usual” family, but had a good time there too. My aunt made tasty food and my uncle taught me how to golf in the dry, rocky desert. There’s no grass, and you only get one club, but dang, it’s more fun than it sounds!
10. I even got par on one of the holes!
11. I found a silver pin-on fabric rose on the sidewalk the other day, and clipped it onto my Goodwill bowling shirt. ‘twas a big hit with the ladies!
12. There’s a place in the desert called Salvation Mountain, which this drifter guy named Leonard basically has been building and painting for over 15 years. It’s like Dr. Seuss meets Catholic iconography meets . . . I dunno. But if you are ever out in the desert, go see Leonard. He’ll probably give you a handful of postcards like he gave to me.
13. I have friends who are willing to stay up until 2:30 with me.
14. I have lots of books I need to finish reading so I can write my final essays for some classes, but they’re good books, and I’m learning a lot from them! Right now they are : Journey to Ixtlan by Carlos Casteneda and various things by Edgar Allen Poe and Jorge Luis Borges.
15. It’s a really nice looking day outside and while there’s a lot of ugly construction outside of my window, if I look the other way there’s also two lazy palm trees slightly swaying against an empty blue sky.
