walls you ae uncovering appear to be part of a large palace complex.
It is constructed of well-trimmed stones and have corners of large ashlars.
You also find an outer gate, with two towers, protecting the approach to the main gate. From the main gate extended a solid wall with numerous towers. You conclude that it
is a palace because of its size, the large monumental stones used in its construction, and
its location near the top of the hill. There are similar palace structures found at
Megiddo and Hazor. When could they date to? What can the discovery of palaces at a
dig site tell you about how the city functioned and who might have lived there?
