About Us

Welcome to the official RailGunner website.

Ok, after trying to fix a small bug in the installer, RailGunner has been reuploaded. For any of you who had problems with the desktop shortcut, downloading the new version should fix it.

Also, just as a reminder, RailGunner is a work in progress. As such, King of the Rail Mode may only work the first time time a game is created when you run RailGunner, and only on certain levels. It has only been tested on the USRCU Facility level. It is only included as a proof of concept, and is by no means final. Combat will work on any level.

We just launched this site, so we hope you like it. Last night, RailGunner won 1st Place at the 2007 Chapman University Game Development Contest. This contest was for the Game Development class CPSC240. Everyone gave 10 minute presentations showcasing their games to professors and videogame industry professionals who were acting as a panel of judges. At the conclusion of the presentations, the judges scored the games based on creativity, completeness, etc. and RailGunner won!

We would like to thank all the students of Gamedev whose smiling faces while playing our alpha builds inspired us to continue working hard and convinced us that we had a genuinely fun game. We would also like to thank the judges for taking time out of their busy schedules to come see everyone's games because the pressure of knowing the final presentation would be to industry professionals motivated us to do our best.

Above all, we would like to thank Wood Harter for his outstanding work as a instructor for the Gamedev class. He put up with all our silly questions and was always there to help, even going out of his way to help us with our games and providing feedback on how to improve it. Thank you Wood for everything you taught us, especially about "scope."
