Your journal assignment for this week is to explore data sources for an analysis of crime rates and population size.  The question is whether large populations have higher crime rates than smaller populations.  You do not need to undertake the appropriate analysis, but you must (1) identify web sources of data appropriate to the analysis and report examples of the data available there, (2) specify the unit of analysis for your proposed study, and (3) outline the steps through which you would answer the research question.
