This is a new type of watch band.  It would be a solid bracelet instead of a stretching or flexing one, designed in the form of two rounded pincers.  You put the watch on your wrist and squeeze the two pincers together until they are comfortably snug on your wrist.  Then, a button on the bracelet would release the catch and open the pincers.

It should have a spring to force it open when the catch is released.
