Chapman University, located in Orange, is the largest independent university in Orange County. It is comprised of eight schools and colleges, including a school of film and television created in June 1996 and a school of law, which opened in August 1995, as well as a liberal arts college in an academic structure that offers both professional studies and liberal arts education.

Chapman University also has campus locations throughout California and Washington. These campuses focus on the adult learner, offering undergraduate, graduate, teacher credential, certificate and extended education programs at times that meet the schedule of the working adult.
