Description
A class that teaches students the fundamentals of how
this fast-growing technology in the telecommunications market is using
light over Optical Fiber to deliver voice, video, data, security and
other exciting high-bandwidth services to homes across the world. We
recommend this course for anyone who plans to install, maintain and/or
repair PON systems and for anyone who needs to be familiar with FTTx
cable designs and testing of optical fiber.

Upon completion of this course, the student will:

understand how to safely handle Optical Fiber products;

understand Optical Fiber theory;

be familiar with FTTx cable designs;

understand best practices for accessing Optical Fiber
cable; and
-
measure system and component loss with the OTDR.
