Besides blue skies, perfect weather and miles and miles of beaches, Orange County is known for one other thing --- action. OC residents like to stay busy and the summer of 2007 will be no exception. From bike rides on boardwalks to outdoor evening concerts, hot surfer bodies to pie eating contests, this is the place to be this summer.

Here is a close look at just some of the summer fun.

Duck-A-Thon-Race & Festival- Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach’s annual Duck-A-Thon brings people from all walks of life together to raise funds for its Community Health Care centers. Buoyant toy yellow rubber duckies are sold for $10-$20 a duck depending on size. Each participant is able to name his or her duck and each rubber ducky is marked with a number on the bottom.

At the commencement of this two-day event all of the duckies are launched simultaneously into the waters below the Huntington Beach pier. The first rubber duckies to reach land are declared the winners and those who purchased the winning duckies receive prizes ranging from gift certificates, prize baskets and much more.

After the Duck-A-Thon’s commencement ceremony the real fun begins. Face painting, moon bounces, fire trucks, fine food vendors and beverage carts are all on site for the free of admittance event.
