Faculty Guide to Library Resources & Services The Leatherby Libraries is home to nine distinctive libraries, as well as a wealth of electronic resources. This guide was created especially for faculty to provide you with basic information on the library’s resources and services. We offer a wide variety of electronic resources including 135 plus multidisciplinary, subject specific, and newspaper databases, a journal finder with access to over 34,000 full text journal, magazine, and newspaper titles, and over 10,000 e-Books including e-Reference sources, all of which are available through our Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) entitled the Leatherby Libraries Catalog. Information & Reference Services The Reference Desk is located on the 1st floor of the Leatherby Libraries and is staffed by professional librarians during all of the hours that it is open. Answers to questions and research assistance is available by phone, email or in person for members of the Chapman University community Update your circulation borrowing account at the beginning of each semester (or term) before using ILLIAD/Interlibrary Loans. ILLIAD is our electronic interlibrary loan system that will make it easier for you to request books and articles that Chapman University does not own. ILLIAD Interlibrary loan service is available to all current Chapman students, faculty, and staff. Interlibrary Loan materials are held at the Circulation Desk for pick up. You must show your Chapman ID when picking up ILL items. Return all ILL items to the circulation desk or the ILL window. Please visit the ILL window, located on the 1st floor and open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:45 pm, with questions or concerns regarding Interlibrary Loan and ILLIAD. The Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) contains both print and online resources that the library has acquired and can be access from any computer with an Internet connection. Basic functionality includes the ability to search by author, title, keyword, subject or ISBN/ISSN and includes the ability to limit to material types, dates, and location. Our library instruction web page defines information literacy, outlines the mission and objectives of library instruction, provides information on the library instruction room itself, and highlights both individual reference consultation and course based library instruction, including online request forms for instruction.
