Wildcard Use When Searching
Sometimes you may find that your search terms can appear in varied forms. For example, when looking for information on the rate of heart disease in vegetarians, other relevant Websites may include similar words like vegetarianism or vegetarian. In order to retrieve every relevant site, you can use a wildcard. Every search engine can define its own wildcard symbol, but most use the asterisk (*). For example:
The following search will retrieve Websites with the word vegetarianism or vegetarian or vegetarians AND the phrase heart disease. vegetarian* and "heart disease" |
