MEDIA ROOM POLICIES

To access a Media Room, the user agrees to the following:
  • Please use a media room for media access, which is its intended purpose.
  • Provide a current Chapman University Photo ID card.
  • Media Room keys are for "In Library Use Only." Do not take the key out of the building.
  • Retain your checkout receipt. (Receipt contains due date and time of Media Room Access Key.)
  • Food or beverages are prohibited.
  • Do not attempt to change any settings, reprogram or remove any software or audio/visual equipment from the room.
  • Report any damage or malfunctioning equipment immediately to the Circulation Department.
  • The user assumes full responsibility for the Media Room and its equipment.
  • In order to renew a Media Room, bring the Media Room Access Key and your Chapman University Photo ID card to the Circulation Desk. (Renewal can only be granted if use of media equipment is still necessary.)
  • Do not manually turn off plasma screens or audio/visual equipment in the rooms. (Equipment will be turned on and off by the Circulation Department.)
  • Once you have finished using the media equipment, exit the room, close the door, and return the Media Room Access Key to a Circulation Assistant at the Circulation Desk. Do not leave the access key on the circulation counter or place them in bookdrops.
  • Fines will assess at $5 an hour if the Media Room Access Key is returned late to the Circulation Department. (Maximum overdue fine for Media Rooms is $40.)
  • In the event of loss or damage to the Media Room Access Key or Touch Panel, replacement charges will be assessed as follows:
    • $50 for the Media Room Access Key
    • $1000 for the Media Room Touch Panel
  • Failure to comply with Media Room policies may result in suspension of Media Room use privileges.
