Dissertation / Thesis Guidelines
Submission Guidelines
Dissertations and theses completed in partial fulfillment for an advanced degree (e.g., Doctorate or Master’s) will be made available in print to the public in the Leatherby Libraries with an option for students to submit their dissertation or thesis to the ProQuest database Dissertation and Theses Full-Text, which is published by UMI (University Microfilms Inc., a subsidiary of ProQuest.) Please consult your department to determine if they require additional copies.
Checklist Requirement
The Dissertation/Thesis Checklist - from this point on referred to as the Checklist - is mandatory for both print and online submissions. The Checklist allows the Committee/Department Chair and the designated library representative to verify that all format requirements have been completed properly. Both the signatures of the Committee/Department Chair and the library representative must be obtained prior to turning in the print version or submitting an online version. This checklist, once signed by the Chair, may be dropped off at the Circulation Desk to any staff member and will be maintained in the library for a period no longer than three years. The Checklist is available here.
Format Requirement
Refer to the Checklist for specific format requirements. Title, signature and copyright page samples are provided below.
