Welcome to the Community of Readers website!


About the Program

Community of Readers is open to everyone who has borrowing privileges at the Leatherby Libraries and a current library account, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members who purchase a community library card. Members select books from the Leatherby Libraries and receive prizes upon submission of their first review. The only requirement is that books must be from the Leatherby Libraries.

Ready to join? Just follow these easy steps:

1. Select a book from Leatherby Libraries. Click here to search the online catalog.
2. Read the book during the program dates.
3. Submit a brief 2-4 sentence review to the Community of Readers website. Click here to read a sample review.
4. You're a member!
5. Submit more reviews to increase your chances of winning prizes.

Prizes & Ceremony

YOU CHOOSE is the theme for this summer!
  1. Submit 1 review and choose a bookmark featuring a famous writer or artist.
  2. Submit 3 reviews and choose Jane Austen or William Shakespeare playing cards.
  3. Submit 5 reviews and choose from a variety of coffee mugs (Great Composers, Impressionists, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, Women Artists, Women Writers).
  4. Submit 7 reviews and choose Great Writers or Great Artists assorted notecard sets.
  5. Submit 10 reviews and choose Great Writers magnet set, Great Artists sketch book, Women Writers magnet set, or Women Writers journal.
  6. Monthly prize drawings from the Library's secret stash!
An end-of-summer ceremony for all members will be held in August. The final prize drawings will be held at the ceremony.
Members who are not at the Orange Campus will receive their prizes in one bulk mailing in August.

You are free to select your own books to read! The following optional reading lists have been created to offer suggestions, but there is no requirement to read books from these lists.
