This series contains a signed poster detailing the agenda for the R. C. Hoiles Chair Conference: Libertarianism and its Critics, which occurred in the George H. W. Bush Conference Center (Beckman Hall 404) at Chapman University at 6:30 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2008. The conference was a discussion presented by a distinguished group of political thinkers regarding the ideals of libertarianism, including in-depth exploration of both the connections and the tensions between modern-day libertairanism and modern-day liberalism. The poster is signed by Dr. Tom Palmer, Mr. Steven Greenhut, Mr. Larry Rosenthal, Dr. Ernest Partridge, Dr. Jan Narveson, Dr. James Sterba, Dr. Jennifer Baker, and Dr. Jeffrey Reiman.

Scope and Contents note

The Lectio Magistralis are a lecture series by leading thinkers of our time. Launched in fall 2008, the series is presented by the Chancellor's Office at Chapman University and is intended to present thought-provoking, erudite and fascinating talks by experts in a wide range of fields, broadly accessible to the public as well as students and academics. The inaugural lecture was delivered on November 20, 2008, by Dr. John Dickhaut of the Economic Science Institute.
