Our very first issue. Had a too-large print run and was assembled by hand with staples and electrical tape. Paul drew the cover and Aaron crashed on his skateboard while delivering a box of completed issues to Roosevelt Hall. Our second issue was not printed on paper, but complied entierly in html and distrubuled on CD. We debuted it at the National Honors Conference in Chicago and actually put the finishing touches on the whole thing in our hotel room there. Not many copies made it back to California, and as a result it is the rarest of all Gabbo publications. To generate material for Gabbo and to toss around ideas, Paul, Aaron and Zoey contributed to a Gabbo weblog over the summer as well. We returned to the printed page for our third issue, which Paul mostly complied on his own while Aaron was in Spain. It is printed on blue interior pages and contains significant material about both James Joyce and New Orleans, as well as other thunderous topics. The fourth issue was the final one published by the Old Guard. Its interior pages are pink. It may be the best issue of the lot, and has a delightful aire of serendipity about it. There were about a dozen different covers published, all based off of panels from Spanish Flash Gordon comics.
