Introduction to Orff

This course is designed as a mini-version of Level I with the primary focus on experiencing the many entry points into teaching through the Orff process.  This foundational class is also an excellent preparatory class for going on to Level I.

The Orff Process is designed to actively engage all in an exciting community of learners...learning while having fun!  The process begins with simple elements of language, with poetry and children’s literature as entry points progressing to body percussion, movement and playing instruments.

You will leave with a variety of activities that will benefit you in the classroom.  Basic pedagogy activities addressing many modalities, introduction to soprano recorder, and special culminating topics every day enrich the entire spectrum of the learning experience.

The Introduction to Orff class is for all teachers, classroom and music specialists, parents, those who work with special needs, music therapists, second language students and at-risk students.

There is no additional work required outside of the classroom, but daily participation is key to the learning process. Sing, play and dance for one amazing week
