Globalization and standardization, combined with more stringent financial reporting requirements, have resulted in a continuum of change in the practice, rules, regulations, ethics, and execution of managerial accounting and financial strategy in all areas of an organization. Over the past several years, the role of management accountants and financial managers has evolved significantly. Today’s managerial finance and accounting professionals are internal consultants and business analysts. They work on cross-functional teams and are involved in strategic decisions. They are active business partners. The IMA Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Certification Program addresses the needs of managerial finance and accounting professionals as they meet the challenges of the new corporate accounting environment. IMA has recently updated the CMA body of knowledge to reflect the variety of relevant business skills and abilities (including analyzing, managing, and evaluating business solutions) that professionals must possess to effectively contribute to the strategic success of an organization today. Chapman University, in cooperation with local IMA chapters, is planning to offer this professional development program at several of its campuses throughout California. If you are interested in attending, or teaching in, this program, please contact me about bringing the program to you. Call for Instructors - We need a cadre of instructors to facilitate this program at multiple locations including our campuses in Irvine, Ontario, Walnut Creek and Sacramento. Candidates must have a BA degree, hold a current CMA designation, and have presentation or teaching experience. Call to discuss.
