Chapman University College Extended Education, in partnership with the Orange County Regional Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, is proud to present a half-day seminar for Common Interest Development Board Members. The three-hour presentation will cover a wide variety of topics to educate Board Directors, or Homeowners wanting to serve on the Board or be active within their associations. It will provide the basic knowledge and skills required to understand the management of the day-to-day activities of a Homeowners Association.

Topics will include:

  • Community Associations Defined

  • The Board of Directors – Descriptions of Offices

  • Fiduciary Responsibilities

  • Legal Documents

  • Rules Governing Meetings

  • Committees

  • Professional Management

  • Record Keeping

It is anticipated that the State of California will make it a requirement for Board Members to complete continuing education through the Department of Consumer Affairs and regulated by the Department of Real Estate. This course is designed to be in compliance with the new requirements. Participants will earn a Certificate of Completion from Chapman University College.

Additional specialized courses are planned.
