Alpha Phi

The way we feel about sisterhood is impossible to measure: the experience of living in sisterhood is a great and boundless treasure.

It’s love and laughter and life itself. It’s a smile and someone who cares: it’s happiness and tenderness and the thought a sister shares. It’s learning the meaning behind that smile. It’s finding you can run another mile. It’s walking in a meadow that has no fence: this is the Alpha Phi experience." Alpha Phi prides itself in scholarship, leadership, philanthropy, and sisterhood.

Our women come from all different majors, cities, and interests that bring us together and make us a strong whole. Every year, Alpha Phi holds Phi’esta and Mr. University to raise money for our philanthropy. For the past few years, we have chosen to donate our money to the local CHOC Hospital and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Alpha Phi promotes community service such as planting trees, beach clean-ups, painting over graffiti, and canned-food drives. Such group projects are beneficial to the community as well as sisterhood. The special bonds made in Alpha Phi will last a lifetime.

Alumnae chapters and clubs are located throughout North America, there is opportunity to remain active with Alpha Gamma Delta wherever a women’s future takes her.

We value the qualities that Chapman women will contribute to our Fraternity and we know their lives will be enriched by the Alpha Gamma Delta experience. Building special friendships is an important part of Alpha Gamma Delta. It is an unspoken link of trust and assurance of sisterhood that spans a lifetime of commitment, love, and loyalty, and friendships. We are proud of the sisterhood that has been built into the lives of all Alpha Gamma Deltas."

Delta Gamma
www.chapmandg.org

Delta Gammas can be proud of everything that they are involved with, including philanthropy, sisterhoods, and incredible opportunities to get involved with Chapman and other students on campus.

The women of Delta Gamma have taken the initiative, and have been presidents of clubs, involved in Student Activities and Organizations, Residence Life and many of the other organizations on Chapman’s campus. Delta Gamma works with the Santa Ana Blind Children’s Center. The DeeGees also go to the BCC weekly to visit with the kids during the babysitting hours, or other fun holiday parties that they have there. The Santa Ana BCC is Zeta Iota’s local philanthropy, but their work extends to benefit Delta Gamma’s national philanthropy: Service for Sight/Aid to the Blind.

The DeeGees hold events that benefit the national philanthropy; these events include Anchor Splash and Anchor Slam. Both events are bracketed tournaments between teams. The DeeGees have a semi-formal in the fall and a formal in the spring…with a lot of other things in between. We look forward to having YOU as a part of our growing Chapter and bringing all of your talents and skills to Delta Gamma.

Gamma Phi Beta

Gamma Phi Beta at Chapman University prides itself on a strong sisterhood encompassing a diverse group of women.

Gamma Phi hosts two philanthropic events earning money to send children with heart disease to summer camp. This past spring Gamma Phi introduced a new philanthropy, the Air Band Challenge, which was co-sponsored with the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha. Gamma Phi also participates in several community service projects. We have worked to build a green house, walked to raise money for breast cancer, and visited a retirement home. The Gamma Phi’s at Chapman strive to focus on the local community as well as the community within the sorority. Events are held each semester that focus on sisterhood, such as overnight sleepovers, ice and roller-skating parties and bonfires at the beach.

This spring the sisters of Gamma Phi Beta earned the title "Sorority of the Year", as well as Greek Week Champions. Gamma Phi Beta at Chapman University is recognized on campus for outstanding achievement and is one of thirteen chapters out of 152 to receive an award from the Gamma Phi Beta International Headquarters for overall chapter excellence.

Phi Sigma Sigma

Phi Sigma Sigma is a dedicated women’s fraternity that focuses on leadership, scholarship, philanthropy, and sisterhood.

More than 50% of our Chapter is an officer in another organization on campus. It is a minimum standard of sisterhood that each sister is involved in two or more extracurricular activities. The Chapter works toward scholastic achievement through programs geared to ensure each sister academic success. Nationally, Phi Sigma Sigma offers nearly $70,000 in scholarships each year. Philanthropy for our Chapter is equally important. Phi Sigma Sigma participates in CHOC walk, Avon Breast Cancer walk, Olive Crest, Black and White Ball, Beach clean-ups, canned food drives, and Rock-A-Thon.

This year our Chapter has raised over $4,000 for the National Kidney Foundation and the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation. Sisterhood for our Chapter is the most important goal we strive to achieve. Without a strong sisterhood it would be impossible to work as a cohesive group of women. Our Chapter activities include: fraternity exchanges, fundraisers, study nights, and Chapter retreats.

We keep these virtues alive by working within our brotherhood and with the community in philanthropic endeavors and activities that benefit all involved. These include our annual alumni Super Bowl party, Blood Drives every semester, the Battle of the Bands in the fall, and other fundraisers for our charity, the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Sigma Alpha Epsilon
www.saechapman.com

The purpose of the SAE Chapter at Chapman is to develop strength of unity and brotherhood through each individual and his personality, emphasizing and building upon the fraternity’s unique diversity as a whole.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s goal is to teach each young man how to be true gentleman and the help him contribute to today’s world. Our Chapter is extremely supportive of community service projects. Last fall, we held a charity rock and roll concert where the price of admission was a toy donation that benefited Toys for Tots. To promote the Greek system at Chapman we co-sponsored the second annual flag football game with Delta Tau Delta.

Over the course of the last year our house has put an emphasis on the brotherhood in our Chapter. We have set up bowling nights, a pledge-active football game, Greek Week practice, Alumni barbecue, Thanksgiving dinner, weight room hours, and group discussions. One group discussion consisted of "your greatest fear". The greatest display of our brotherhood this last year came when our house won the Chapman University Greek Week for a record fourth year in a row.
