Academic Technology and Digital MediaThe Office of Academic Technology and Digital Media works with faculty to support and enhance the use of technology and digital media in instruction and scholarship, providing support for campus-wide instructional tools such as Blackboard as well as assisting faculty in the development of scholarly and pedagogical special projects. Our location within the Office of the Chancellor means that our focus is solely on the academic uses of technology. As a relatively new office, one of our major goals is locating faculty who are interested in exploring innovative uses of technology in their teaching and research. We serve all Colleges and Schools at Chapman, and can assist faculty by helping them define their research and teaching goals related to the use of technology, conducting discipline-specific and technological literature reviews, developing project workplans with clearly identified milestones, providing production assistance or information on external funding opportunities, possibly in conjunction with Chapman's Office of Sponsored Research. In addition to one-on-one consultation and support, we also provide department-based and open weekly workshops and presentations on aspects of academic technology and a digital humanities lecture series. If you have an idea for a workshop or speaker, please let us know: we are happy to consider new topics for upcoming semesters.
